"The Framer" on 66th Street, just off College, is a quaint little shop owned by Tom Altepeter. Once a teacher, he began buying picture frames at auction and turned those purchases into a successful 40 year old business. If you stop to see Tom you will be treated to the singing of the canaries he also raises in his shop, and you can admire the wall to wall art he has collected. Most of his paintings are local artists he has known personally. Many were purchased at auction.
